On July 3, Sarah Roberts, Studio and Program Director at WellStrong, and the Recovery community join forces to support each other in running 270 miles from East Dorset, VT to Falmouth, MA over the course of two weeks; breaking the stigma around substance use disorder by showing what those who have found freedom from addiction are capable of while also highlighting the importance of community in getting there.
The run will be a fundraiser for WellStrong which creates safe and supportive communities of people in recovery using fitness, mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. Community members and supporters will be able to join portions of the run in person as well as virtually through the Challenge Hound app.
Sarah finished the WellStrong Run for Recovery this past weekend (over 250 miles from Vermont to Cape Cod in 15 days). She ran through many days of rain, blisters, sore and tired legs and feet, all to highlight the potential of recovery and the power of community while also raising funds for WellStrong. Check out some of the highlights— What an adventure!
